Local Sport Defibrillator Grant Program Applications Now Open

Latest News

Local sporting clubs across the Cessnock Electorate are encouraged to submit an application for the Local Sport Defibrillator Grant Program.

The program provides funding to incorporated, not-for-profit grassroots sport clubs, with the program aiming to assist sporting clubs in NSW in the purchase and maintenance of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).

Several sporting groups across the Cessnock Electorate have been successful in receiving defibrillator funding to improve the emergency equipment at their respective clubs.

The successful recipients for the 2017/18 Local Sport Grant Program were:

  • Branxton Croquet Club to receive $1,250, to purchase a defibrillator for use at the Croquet Club Grounds;
  • Branxton Golf Club to receive $1,250, to purchase a defibrillator for use at the Golf Club; and
  • Cessnock Clay Target Club to receive $1,250, to purchase a defibrillator for use at the Club.

“Last year Cessnock Clay Target Club received $1,250 to purchase a defibrillator for use at the Club. This funding was crucial for the club in purchasing this piece of potentially lifesaving equipment.” Mr Barr said.
