Rotaract Club of Cessnock

Speeches

I pay tribute to the Rotaract Club of Cessnock. They are a non-profit, non-religious, apolitical group of young adults who participate in a wide range of social and community service activities. This year the inaugural Cessnock Rotaract Ball raised $9,700 for Carrie’s Place, a domestic violence refuge which is located in Maitland. Members worked very hard to ensure the ball was a success. Current president Hayley Doherty and fellow members Claudia Koncz, Kendall Towers, Emma Kirk, Christiana McDonald-Spicer, Ellie Goodyer and Taylah Turner, to name but a few, work continuously to make a difference in the local community. The Rotaract Club of Cessnock includes five former Miss Cessnock winners. This month the club also helped at the Cessnock Relay for Life by selling merchandise, taking care of game and trivia entries, helping to create a memory banner of painted hands for all relay participants and putting safety gear on the kids for the rock climbing wall. The Rotaract Club of Cessnock will help wherever needed.
