Stronger Country Communities Funding

State Member for the Electorate of Cessnock, Clayton Barr, MP is encouraging eligible applicants in partnership with local councils to make application to the Stronger Country Communities Funding for eligible community infrastructure projects, to deliver crucial local infrastructure to improve quality of life for those living in regional NSW.

The Fund will support projects that include:

  • construction of new or refurbishment/upgrade of existing community infrastructure such as community halls, playgrounds, or toilet blocks;
  • construction of new or refurbishment/upgrade of existing local sporting infrastructure such as change room facilities, walking and cycle pathways, public pool upgrades, indoor sports facilities or oval/court lighting;
  • capital works related to street beautification and public ‘place making’ such as murals, planter boxes or town and tourism signage.

Councils must consult with their communities to ensure the submitted projects have a high level of community support.

Round two is now open and will close at 5pm on Friday 4 May 2018.
