Last week, I had the pleasure of presenting a Certificate to Anne Andrews of Holmesville, in recognition of being named the Cessnock 2016 Local Woman of the Year.
Anne does volunteer work for a number of groups and associations and has been doing this for many years, i.e. Sugarloaf & Districts Action Group and the West Wallsend Cemetery Sub-Committee. Anne is a member of the AECG (Aboriginal Education Consultative Group) which works to improve educational outcomes for indigenous children and in recent times has been a great advocate fighting to save the Butterfly Cave at West Wallsend.
