Yesterday morning I had the chance to briefly attend the start of the RYDON (Regional Youth Development Officer Network) Conference at Kurri Kurri TAFE.
The focus of the conference will be Cyber-Bullying and Bullying more generally. This is a new frontier that we must tackle. It is becoming a cliché, but also a statement of truth, that people are no longer able to escape or get away from bullying when they leave school or work in the afternoon. The internet and social media make bullying far easier, more anonymous, relentless and widely broadcast.
It was terrific to see the frank and honest conversation being had by the youth work fraternity that really do work at the front edge of engagement with young people.
